On 19 March 2025, a public defense of the doctoral dissertation by Mr. Dawid Kalandyk took place at the Faculty. The dissertation was entitled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence Methods with Particular Emphasis on Reinforcement Learning.” On 26 March 2025, the Council of the Discipline of Technical Informatics and Telecommunications adopted a resolution awarding the degree of Doctor of Engineering and Technology Sciences in the discipline of technical informatics and telecommunications to M.Sc. Eng. Dawid Kalandyk and granting a distinction to the doctoral dissertation. The supervisor of the doctoral dissertation was D.Sc. Eng. Roman Zajdel, Prof. PRz. The dissertation was reviewed by D.Sc. Eng. Aleksandra Kawala-Sterniuk, Prof. PWr, D.Sc. Eng. Michał Podpora, Prof. UO, and D.Sc. Eng. Krzysztof Siwek, Prof. PW.
