Department of Computer and Control Engineering was established in 1981 (at first, its name was the Department of Automatics and Computer Science). Researchers work in established teams:  
Control Systems and Microprocessor Engineering

The Control Systems and Microinformatics Team, operating within the Department of Computer Science and Automation at Rzeszów University of Technology, conducts research and teaching in the fields of modern control systems, automation, and microprocessor-based measurement and control systems. The team undertakes scientific and project work on, among other areas, intelligent control systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), and applications of microinformatics in industry and robotics.

Vision Systems and Optimization

The Computer Vision and Optimization Team in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at Rzeszów University of Technology conducts research in the fields of image processing and analysis, machine learning, and optimization methods. The team’s activities include the development of algorithms for computer-based object recognition, artificial intelligence, and the application of optimization methods in engineering and automation.

Artificial Intelligence and Fundamentals of Computer Science

The Artificial Intelligence and Fundamentals of Computer Science Team within the Department of Computer Science and Automation at Rzeszów University of Technology conducts research and teaching in the fields of algorithms, artificial intelligence methods, and machine learning. The team focuses on research related to models of intelligent information systems, data processing, and AI applications in automation and information technologies.

System design and operation

The System Design and Operation Team in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at Rzeszów University of Technology focuses on research and education in the design, analysis, and maintenance of complex information and automation systems. The team’s activities cover systems engineering, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency of modern technological solutions.

Robotics and computer graphics

The Robotics and Computer Graphics Team in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at Rzeszów University of Technology conducts research and teaching in the design, control, and simulation of robotic systems. The team also focuses on computer graphics, 3D modeling and visualization, as well as the application of computational techniques in robotics, automation, and virtual reality.
